Emotional Matters

There is so much to take care of after the death of a loved one. One of the first things to take care of is yourself. Please click below for resources on emotional support provided by Palmetto Cremation and partners in the community. You have the right to grieve your loss, and we would like to help you begin your healing in a safe place.

 

Grief Support Services are offered in various settings throughout the region.  Private Counselors, Hospices, Churches, and Community Organizations may offer such services.  The following listing is not exhaustive; however, it may provide direction to support healing.

Compassionate Friends –Support for parents, grandparents and adult siblings after the death of a child.

 

The Charleston chapter meets the last Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC 29407. Please call Susan 843-763-6362 or 843-708-1360. A yearly worldwide candle lighting service is held each December.

Tender Memories Perinatal Loss Support Group helps men and women deal with grief and depression they feel after losing a pregnancy. This free group, led by obstetric nurses trained in pregnancy bereavement issues, meets the second and fourth Monday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Prenatal Wellness Center, 135 Cannon Street, Suite 202, in Charleston, SC.
