David Allan Priester, II ascended into Heaven on March 29, 2013, following an accident at work on the night of March 18, 2013. David was born on November 29, 1974 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. He is the son of Vicki Motts Priester and David A Priester I and the Grandson of Jim and Thelma Motts all of Summerville, SC. David is predeceased by Grandparents Howard and Thelma Priester, Great Grandparents Ollie M. and Adam Motts, Great Grandmother Evie Drake Thompson, and Brother in law Gregory Norton II. He is the husband of Lisa J. (Tortorici) Priester. Lisa and David were married on January 11, 2005 and they have two beautiful daughters Caroline Isabella Priester (4), and Virginia Anabella Priester (16 months.) David and his family are members of Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, SC. He is survived by his wife and children, a sister Heather M. Postell (Eric) of Goose Creek, SC., Father in law Pete Tortorici (Lee) of Mississippi, Mother in law Cindy Norton of North Charleston, Brother in law Pete Tortorici Jr (Julie), Sister in law Whitney Prillaman (Ben) of North Charleston, Niece Lauren Postell, Aunts, and an Uncle. David is a 1993 graduate of Stratford High School and attended the College of Charleston. In 2005 he completed CSX railroad's locomotive engineers program and worked for CSX out of Richmond, Virginia before returning to Charleston in 2008. He was an employee of AAA Car Care Centers where he worked as a mechanic. He recently finished the Aircraft Assembly Program at Trident Technical College. He is employed by Boeing of South Carolina as a Composite Fabrication Specialist. David loved the Lowcounty rivers and lakes. You could find him kayaking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, and boating in the Stono River, Charleston Harbor, and the barrier islands. He loved sharing his passion for history as he was a carriage, bus, and walking tour guide for many years. It was at that time when he met his wife, Lisa. He also loved gardening, as well as fixing and repairing anything for family members. He had just started his job at Boeing and loved coming home and sharing the new things he learned daily. He had an adventurous life, one that would make an interesting biography. He is a true family man who showed his love for his wife and two children, and was always one to end family gatherings with a hug. David will be missed by his family and many friends who showed their love in many ways during his brief stay at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also showed his love for his fellow man by becoming and organ donor. A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Methodist on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10am. All friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers a college fund for his daughters has been created at South Carolina Federal Credit Union and called the David Priester Memorial Fund.
