Dennis Michael Foye

January 18, 1949 — August 10, 2017

Mr. Dennis Michael Foye passed away peacefully on 10 August 2017 in Charleston, South Carolina after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Dennis was born on January 18, 1949 to his parents, the late Major Robert Francis Foye and Yvonne Taurtz Randisi, while being stationed in Fukuoka Japan.

In his new life, Dennis joins his father Robert F. Foye; Stepfather Marion Randisi; Sister Gina & spouse Michael Niemeir; Father-in-Law Hiroshi Sakamoto.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Terumi Sakamoto Foye; sons Sean Foye and Christopher/spouse Amee Foye; daughter Candice Burgess; five grandchildren; his mother Yvonne Randisi; sister Bonnie/spouse Bill Nettelmann; Mother-in-Law Setsuko Sakamoto; Sister-in-Law Michiyo/spouse Tatsuya Shimizu; one niece and one nephew. Dennis will also be missed by his many life long friends in Japan, the U.S. Navy, and the local Hunt Club Homeowner Communities.

Dennis served in the U.S. Navy receiving the Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Engineering, followed by a distinguished Navy civilian career, which included 20 years at the U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center, Yokosuka Japan, where he was the Chief Design Engineer until his retirement 2008. Dennis continued his lifelong volunteer service to the Hunt Club Homeowners’ Committee as the Secretary from 2014 - 2016.

Viewing will take place on 16 August 2017 from 1300 to 1400 at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston SC 29414. Internment will be at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort SC, on 18 August 2017 at 1100. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dennis’ new life.

Haynie, Community Association Manager and her friends of Holy Trinity Church, and all friends and families, for your support and for sharing with us your love, prayers, and condolences during our moments of sorrow, which in many ways gave us the strength and courage to endure our great loss.
