Ida Orvin O'Reilly (Orvin)

November 26, 1932 — February 1, 2016

Ida Orvin O'Reilly of Summerville, formerly of Charleston, SC, passed away on February 1, 2016. She was the widow of Capt. William F. O'Reilly and the daughter of the late Levia and Viola Hood. She is survived by two children, Diane C. Pooser (Al), Howard K. Carter; and three grandchildren, Grayson, Logan and Lexie Pooser; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers, Clarence, Roy and Carl Orvin, and a sister, Marguerite Davis-Hager. Ida belonged to American Business Women's Association for many years and held many positions. After retiring from First Union National Bank and Mt. Pleasant Water Works, Ida traveled the world and made many friends from Europe to Australia. She was also an avid card player. A memorial will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. 714 Riverdale Drive, Avondale, Charleston, SC at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 with a reception to follow at the church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to SPCA or to The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Arrangements by Palmetto Cremation Society, Charleston, SC.
