It is with great love and many fond memories we announce the death of Jean Yarbrough Stallworth, surrounded by her girls at her home in Mt. Pleasant, SC, on August 21,2014. Jean was remembered fondly by everyone she met. She was a very talented and whimsical artist, an avid golfer and a fabulous mother and grandmother. Her passion for life touched many. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women and continued her education in Millsap College and Tulane University. She taught Physical Education in Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA. In 1953, she married William King Stallworth(Bill) and they chose Charlotte, NC as their home and place for Bill to practice medicine. In later years, they enjoyed living at Franke at Seaside in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Jean is survived by her three daughters, Lea Stallworth Moore and her husband Jim; Nancy Stallworth Montague; Sarah Stallworth Schmidt and her husband Michael. Her grandchildren, Jimmy and Blaine Moore, Kingslea Moore, Lea Montague, Ian Schmidt and William Schmidt. They have very fond memories of her and nicknamed her Ubi. She also has a sister, Margaret Yarbrough Koenig of Monterey, CA. Jean was predeceased by her husband William King Stallworth and her grandson Banks Montague. Her ashes will join her husband’s in the Columbarium at Franke . A memorial service will be held in Franke at Seaside’s chapel on Sunday, August 24th at 3:30.The girls the will receive friends and family at Jean’s home after the service.
