Jennifer E. Kyle

May 29, 1958 — January 4, 2014

Jennifer Forlaw Kyle, 55, of Sumter, South Carolina, raised on James Island and an Island Girl at heart, died on Friday, January 3, 2014, at Charleston Hospice House. Born on Friday, May 29, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Gerald Thomas Forlaw, also of James Island, and Avanelle McConnell Forlaw (deceased). She was a master barber and could make even the most unsightly of us have great hair. She loved animals and hundreds of them are alive today because of her sacrifice and compassion. She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald G. Forlaw 'GG' and is survived by her husband, Milton Jay Kyle, and daughter, Jamie Marie Bryant and son-in-law Jason, son Paul Hartnett and daughter-in-law Tiffany, son Joseph Jones and stepchildren Josh and Tara. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Loretta Forlaw, Judith M. Cook, Christine Campbell, Charlene Forlaw Hunt and Sandra Forlaw and their families. Her grandchildren, who she loved with a love beyond words, will truly miss their grandma: Jonas and Jameson Bryant, and “little” Paul and Christina Hartnett. Her friends, cousins, nieces and nephews spread around this great country of ours will miss her dearly. As the poem goes, “…Friday’s child is loving and giving…” and truer words could not be spoken. She loved like there was no tomorrow and gave until she could give no more. She was the bravest lady we knew and holds our hearts in her hands even now. Her mantra was Live, Laugh, Love and she lived her life to reflect those very words. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Epworth United Methodist Church at 1540 Camp Road, James Island. The family will receive visitors in the sanctuary beginning at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church’s Pearcy Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Jenny’s wishes were that memorial donations be made in her honor to Epworth United Methodist Church.
