Jennifer Wright, 62, died November 24, 2021 in Charleston, SC surrounded by her
children.
Jennifer was born on March 14, 1959 in Long Beach, CA to Jenny and Paul O’Connor.
She grew up in Bermuda before attending Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. After
a year at Franklin College in Switzerland, she graduated from The University of
Colorado at Boulder in 1981. She moved to New York City after school and had a
successful career in retail management for Bonwit Teller and later Saks Fifth Ave before
retiring to start a family.
She married Randy Wright on November 3rd 1984 in Bermuda and together they raised three daughters in Rye, NY and South Salem, NY.
An island girl at heart, she spent as much time as she possibly could at her beloved Coral Beach
enjoying the sun and sand in her fabulous hats. She had a keen sense of fashion and
decorating, was a member of the Rye Garden Club, the TWIG organization, and loved
flower arranging. Famous for her hors d’oeuvres, she loved to entertain. She inherited
the feistiness of her Irish father tempered by the sweetness of her Dutch mother, and
this engaging combination garnered her many friends throughout her life.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Wellmore of Daniel Island
and MUSC for taking such great care of Jennifer over the last year.
She is predeceased by her father, Paul O’Connor and survived by her mother Jenny
O’Connor, her children Tyler, Parrish and Morgan Wright, sister Kelly Pasciucco,
beloved nieces and nephews, and her ex-spouse Randy.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Jennifer may be made to Miss Porter’s School, 60 Main Street, Farmington,
CT 06032.
A memorial is being planned for January in Connecticut.
