John Anthony Ricci

John A. Ricci entered into eternal rest on July 13th, 2013, at the age of 85. John was born in Schenectady, New York on February 9, 1928. The youngest of 3 children. He is survived by his wife Julie Ricci, a sister Lena Defreest, 4 children -- Elizabeth Burton, John Ricci II., Patricia Franklin, and Michael Ricci, 10 grandchildren --Leah Burton, Hal (Adam) Burton, Amanda Ricci, Christina Ricci, Chad Franklin, Brent Franklin, Chase Franklin, Hunter Franklin, Julia Ricci, John (Jack) Ricci and one great grandchild Ava Ricci. John proudly served in the Navy during World War II as a pilot. He always had a love of flying and was proud of his service in the Navy. His two sons graduated from the Citadel and served in the military as well. John was the epitome of the good Samaritan. His focus in life was always on helping others, trying to take care of anyone in need, and supporting those he felt were treated unfairly. He was truly selfless in his desire to serve others. Services will be at 10:00am on July 18th, 2013 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home 1520 Rifle Range Rd. Mt. Pleasant, SC . Reception to follow at The Palms of Mount Pleasant retirement Community 937 Bowman Road Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
