Josephine Hendrick Nelson

Josephine (Suzy) Nelson, 76, of Yonge's Island, passed into eternal life on October 3, 2012 in Charleston. Suzy lived in loving service to her family, church, friends, and a host of charities and organizations. Suzy, Woody's soul mate and constant companion, was a champion fisherman, chef and a sewing expert, She blessed all who knew her with her love and tireless devotion. She will be terribly missed by all. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Haywood (Woody) and her adoring family; daughters Janet Hutchinson (Doug), Lori Barnette, and Karen Tzanetopoulos (George); in-laws Margaret and Richard Anderson and Robert Nelson; grandchildren Eric and Steve Hutchinson, Jennifer and Paul Tzanetopoulos, David Barnette, former son-in-law David W. Barnette, step-grandchildren Michelle and Adam Coleman, Holly and Ryan Hill, Tara Barnette (Matt) and their children Taylor, Rhett, Riley, Justin and Nathan, Mathew, Austin, Hunter, Elijah, and Joshua. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 5412 Hwy 165, Hollywood, SC on Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Memorial UMC Family LIfe Center in Hollywood or My Sister's House (for abused women), PO Box 71171, North Charleston 29415.
