Norman Floyd Garland

Garland, Norman Floyd, 81, of North Charleston SC departed this life September 16, 2013 after a long illness. Born July 2, 1932 in the Township of Todd, PA. Norman was the son of Thurmond and Ruth (Carbaugh) Garland. “Norm” was a retired MSgt of the US Air Force. After retirement he went on to run his own furniture repair company. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was active in his church. He also enjoyed sports, traveling and cooking. Norman is survived by his son, Norman F. Garland, Jr. (JuliAnn) of North Charleston, SC as well as four grandchildren, Christina (Chris) Pasibe of Lilburn, GA, Sandy (Jason) Thompson of Andrews AFB, MD, Heather (Daniel) Thompson, of Liberty, SC, and Tiffany C. Garland of Charleston, SC and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Ann (Foster) Garland and his daughter, Cheryl Lee Harshberger. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Saturday, September 21, 2013. The service will be at 12:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church Summerville SC. Internment will be private. The family will receive friends at the Grace Fellowship hall after the service. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1600 Old Trolley Rd, Summerville, SC 29485 and/or the Hospice center fund 3870 Leeds Ave. Suite 101, N. Charleston, SC 29405.
