Albert Jacob Baier

Albert Jacob Baier, 87, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 surrounded by his children.

Born on December 24,1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Al was the beloved son of Micheal and Margaret Baier. He spent his life devoted to family, prison ministry, nursing home ministries, bible studies and touched countless lives.

Al enlisted in the Coast Guard for 5 years during that time he also enjoyed boxing. After he went on to work as a guitar instructor and later as a sales rep until retirement. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with family, playing the guitar, spending time in nature and spreading Gods word. Those who knew Al will remember him for being loving, loyal and a God fearing man whose guidance and kindness will be deeply missed.

Al is survived by sons: Alan Jay Baier and Jimmy Lee Baier both of West Columbia SC; Daughter: Tawna Marie Davis(Kevin) of Elgin, SC. Grandchildren: Daniel(Courteney), Charlotte(Micheal), Jessica(Caleb), Holly, Mercedes, Crystal, Coleman(Annie), Christopher, Joseph(Janaye) and Matthew. Sister: Belinda Green and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first love and mother of his children- Delores(Kitty) Baier; Mother- Margaret Baier; Father- Micheal Baier(Ola); Son- Michael Duane Baier; Siblings- Emma Patrick, Frieda Rosenal and Hilda Bunch.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice nurses and aides, and friends for their care, compassion, and support.

The family would also like to thank Al's most loved and cherished best friend Diana VanDyke for all her love and support.

Al's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
