Andrew Adelbert Durant

Andrew "Andy"  Durant, 45, of Bluffton SC passed away April 27, 2026, after a short battle with small cell lung cancer. He was born in Rome, NY on February 24, 1981. He attended VVS High School in Verona, NY.

As a certified Peer Counselor for six years, Andy dedicated his life supporting others struggling with mental health and addiction.  After moving to South Carolina, Andy chose to live a more simple life and worked as a kennel attendant and food delivery driver. He had the ability to see innate goodness in all of God’s creatures.  This led him to successfully rehabilitate his faithful canine companion Daisy, who predeceased him.

Andrew is survived by his mother Melinda Durant; his brother Jeffrey Durant both living in Bluffton SC; his sister Jessica (William) Pearce of Charleston, SC; and his sister April (Arden) Haynes of Statesville, NC. He is also survived by three nephews: Christian Jeannotte, Bryer Esengard, Hunter Jeannotte all living in NY as well as many aunts,uncles, and cousins. His father, David Durant, predeceased him.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 28th at St. Andrew’s Chapel in Bluffton, SC. He will be interred in the St. Gregory Columbarium following the service.  There will be no calling hours.   The family will arrive prior to the service to greet family and friends.
