Barbara Ann Kanary

In loving memory of Barbara Kanary…

Barbara Ann “Babs” (Corsello) Kanary, 84, formerly of Observatory Hill and McCandless, died Wednesday September 16, 2026 in Charleston, South Carolina with family. 

Babs was the daughter of the late Julius V. and Mary M. “Margie” Corsello of Observatory Hill; loving wife of Charles Kanary who predeceased her; loving mother of Alicia (Colin) Pandohie of Charleston SC and Dayna (Brian Shord) Kanary of Oakmont; sister of Mary Lou (James) Keay of West View and aunt of Scott (Mary Dougherty) Keay of Sharon and great aunt of James Keay of West View. 

Babs was a graduate of Perry High School and the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Pittsburgh. She volunteered at The Little Sisters of the Poor and was a member of St. Alexis parish for many years. Babs was a foodie who loved cooking. She also greatly enjoyed music, friends, painting ceramics, animals, fashion, the water, going for a drive at twilight, all things Italian, Ireland and its people, a good laugh and a (sweet) Southern Comfort old fashion.

A funeral mass will be said at St. Alexis Church in Wexford on Tuesday September 29 at 10am. Friends and family are invited to join the family for lunch and memories immediately following the mass.
