Barbara Youngberg, 76, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, in the presence of her loving family.

Born on April 7, 1950, Barbara lived a life devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. She was known for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she shared with those around her.

An exceptionally talented seamstress, Barbara poured her heart and soul into her love for sewing. Whether creating beautiful pieces for her family or teaching others the craft, her hands were rarely still. Her passion found a profound purpose through her volunteer work with Quilts of Valor, where she lovingly crafted and gifted handmade quilts to honor and comfort local veterans. Each stitch was a reflection of her deep gratitude, patriotism, and desire to bring warmth to those who served.

Barbara is survived by her five brothers: Mark Cooper (Leslie Cooper), Daniel Cooper (Jan Cooper), William Cooper (Sandy Cooper), John Cooper, and Jeffrey Cooper.

She was the loving mother of six children: Donald Bloomingdale (Teresa Bloomingdale), James Garver (Jennifer Garver), Peter Bloomingdale, Trista Mahoney (David Mahoney), Melissa Penna (Josh Penna), and Melanie Mizell (Jason Mizell).

Barbara was also a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is further survived by numerous extended family members and dear friends, including Mary Paula Rich and Rebecca Pomeroy.

Barbara resided in the Cayce, South Carolina community, where she was a member of the Wordseekers Life Group. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where she enjoyed friendship and fellowship. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great comfort in worship and community.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and her gentle spirit. Barbara's legacy of love, faith, and beautifully crafted memories will live on through the many lives she touched.

Barbara will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
