Brenda Jean Paradis, 73 of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 after an unexpected illness. She was born on September 16, 1951 in Hanover, N.H was the Daughter of the late Merilyn Wood (Hoisington) and Kenneth Wood.
This wonderful woman was a mother, grandmother, friend and confidant to all who knew her and she will be missed. In case you didn't know, Ninney was an avid reader, she loved the horror genre. Dean Koontz and Stephen King were among her favorites. She loved the movie Stepford Wives and would often make comparisons to this movie to regular everyday life...." Dont be a Stepford wife.." she would say... She was an amazing scrapbooker and made a Stepford Wife scrap book... But board games were her favorite past time. an afternoon of Scrabble, company from family, and some Gossip was the best afternoon... She also loved, King Pede, Cribbage, and Password, to list a few. Her drama of choice was Greys anatomy, even carrying a picture of Derrick (MC DREAMY) Sheppard in her wallet! Ninney loved animals, having many dogs throughout her life: Beau, Sheba, and Zeus, and Still has many many cats that she loves dearly. This fondness for animals shows how big her heart was, she was such a kind soul. She loved Spending time with her family, going on adventures with us, her favorite place to go was the drive through zoo, having the camels and emus eat through her window with all of us petting them. Ninney loved her snacks like Oreos, and Spam and crackers and milk.
Ninney was briefly enlisted in the service and also worked for IBM but made the exciting choice to go overseas to Germany to start a family with her first husband. She has had many different occupations always providing for her family but her biggest passion was to collect and sell Children Toys. She liked to play with them first and always gave them away to the grands. Ninney was Married 3 times in all and had three daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and even a few extra grands she collected. The name Ninney was given to her by her Grandson William and now that is what everyone calls her, but her daughter Tulsa calls her Mouse. Her Son in law Spencer calls her Porkchop, a knickname that I believe came from her dad . Ninney will be truly missed and never replaced. Who is going to make sure we all get where we are going, I will miss the phone calls saying, " Just calling to make sure you got home okay."
"Nighty Night, Sleepy Tight, Sweet Dreams, God Bless you, I love You, See you In Heaven...."
