Charles "Papa Smurph" Riley Johnson

Charles "Papa Smurph" Riley Johnson, 79, a United States Navy Veteran and husband of Kit Woyach Johnson, passed away peacefully, at home, with his wife by his side, on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Born to the late Beaville Johnson and the Late Dorothy Catherine Holden Johnson, Charles was affectionately known as “Papa Smurph”.

In addition to his loving wife, Charles is survived by; sons, Michael Johnson, Charles “Skip” Johnson and wife Sonya, Wendell Johnson, Vince Johnson and wife Melissa, Andy Leichtman and Charles Foreman (Libby) who was like a son; step-daughters, Jackie Pottratz and husband Jim, Kathy Baumann and husband Dale, and Nancy Henry and husband Henry; grandchildren, Christopher, Tabitha, Ayla, Tiffany, Caroline, Joey, Eddie, Shiann and Dixsie; step-grandchildren, Tina, Bobby Jo, Jeff, Kylee, Wes, April, Brandi, Michael, Caitlyn, Olivia, Alaina, Christopher, Leonell, Kyle Pottratz and wife Patty; great grandchildren Tonya and Liam; step great grandchildren, Aiden, Donald, Zach, Payton, Ryan, Lincoln, Hudson, Ashton, Emma, Greyson, Kimber, and Paislee; sisters, Diane Rehburg and husband Robert and Joyce Downey; sister in law Raye Johnson; former step daughter in law, Tami and numerous family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at at Victory Christian Church located at 521 N Goose Creek Blvd, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
