Corey Joseph Granger

Corey Joseph Granger, 22 of Goose Creek, SC passed away on December 18, 2023 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC after a brave two week long battle from serious injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Corey was born on October 16, 2001 in Charleston, SC. He was the son of Charles and Nancy Granger.

Corey attended Stratford High School where he was a member of the ROTC and later graduated from Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School in Columbia, SC.  He graduated from Carolina Construction School in Lancaster, SC as a Certified Heavy Equipment Operator.  He was currently employed by Gulfstream Construction and has worked the past three years on the Charleston Battery Seawall Project.

Throughout his early childhood years Corey played soccer, T-Ball, and Baseball. He was a Cub Scout who also played the saxophone in band and sang in the school choir.

Corey was a “free spirit” who enjoyed his life to the fullest, always in the moment!  He had several interests which included his passion for fishing, boating, the beach, concerts, riding four-wheelers and hanging out with his truck club buddies.  Corey loved going to car shows, NASCAR, dirt track races, racing remote control cars with Mel and most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.  Although Corey exuded a larger-than-life male bravado, those who knew him well would tell you he was a caring, kind-hearted guy who had countless friends that loved him. Corey was always the protector of his friends and family and had a sense of humor and smile that would light up a room. His mom always said he was the “Bright Light” in her life.

Corey is preceded in death by his father, Charles Granger. a close family friend whom Corey called “Uncle Richard” as well as several aunts and uncles.

Corey is survived by his Mother, Nancy Granger and his Stepdad, Mel Kozlowski, several aunts and uncles as well as numerous cousins and the “Love of his Life”, Rhianna George of Summerville.
