Curtis Craig Cummings, 61, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Ladson, South Carolina, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on July 15, 1963, in Providence, Rhode Island, Curtis lived a life defined by love, resilience, and a deep devotion to those he held dear.
He was the cherished husband of Sherry Renee Walters Cummings. Together they shared a love story that began in July of 1982 and endured through decades of joy, hard work, and unwavering support. Curtis was a devoted father to Justin Walters and his wife Amanda-parents to Curtis's beloved grandchildren Chase, JC, and Liara. As well as to his daughter Cassandra Cummings and her daughter Dallas. His son, Curtis C. Cummings, also held a special place in his heart.
Curtis graduated from Central High School in Providence and served briefly in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic-a reflection of his hands-on skills and dedication to service. He later pursued higher education through Colorado Technical University Online, always hungry to learn and share what he discovered-especially through his love of documentaries.
A true working man, Curtis found peace in motion-whether riding free on his motorcycle, under the hood of a car, or cruising in a fast ride. He loved rock music, meaningful conversations, and moments spent simply being with his family. His sense of humor, strong work ethic, and generous heart left a mark on all who knew him.
Curtis shared close bonds with his siblings: brothers Robert A. Cummings and Charles Cummings; and sisters Dawn Cummings Sylvia and Stacy Cummings Toolin. Through marriage, he extended his heart to Robert Walters Jr. and his late wife Rose; Michael and Cathy Walters; Wayne and Tessa Walters; Jimmy Walters and Joey and Billy Bass. He was also a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn A. Cummings and Marie Ann Edwards Cummings.
Curtis will be remembered for his laughter, loyalty, and the way he lit up when surrounded by those he loved most. May his memory continue to inspire kindness, connection, and a love for the open road.
The family will receive guests at
