Deborah Copeland Wald

December 18, 1953 — July 31, 2022

Mt. Pleasant

Our beloved Deborah Ann Copeland Wald (Debbie), 68, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, after a long battle with COPD and cancer. Debbie was born December 18, 1953, to Elizabeth Rosborough Williamson & F. Leon Copeland in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1971 and attended the University of SC. She retired from Carolina One Real Estate on the Isle of Palms, SC, where she worked as the office manager.

Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends, her sweet kitty Renny and her pups, Rosie and Otis. She had a heart of gold and was the world’s best present-giver. Nothing brought her more pleasure than giving to others. She had a selfless spirit. Her favorite place in the world was Maggie Valley in the Smoky Mountains of NC. It was her soul place.

We know that Debbie is enveloped by the love of her parents, Betty Williamson and Leon Copeland, and her brothers, Rusty and Phillip Copeland, who passed before her. She is survived by her husband, Larry, her daughter, Lily, her son, AJ, and her sister, Karen, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends who all loved her dearly. A special thanks to her best friends, Anna, Barbara, Cindy, Darlene, and Trisha who helped Debbie and her family in their time of need.  Debbie touched the lives of so many people and she will be dearly missed.

There will be a Celebration of Debbie’s Life to be announced at a later date and time. Contributions in memory of Debbie can be made to a charity of your choice or any animal or wildlife rescue charity.
