Dennis Anthony Dardanell

Dennis “Denny” Anthony Dardanell of Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully amongst loved ones on September 21, 2026 after a short battle with illness. He is survived by siblings Frank Dardanell and Rita Petrocelli, as well as daughters, Lynne Dardanell (Steve Ling) of Summerfield, NC and Laura Hines (Brett Hines) of Brentwood, TN. He is also survived by five cherished granddaughters: Elena Ling, Sarah Ling, Avery Hines, Emily Hines and Casey Hines. He is predeceased by parents, Frank Anthony Dardanell and Helen Wanda Dardanell; sister, Sharon Hendrickson; and beloved canine companion of 15 years, Cooper.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA and a 1964 graduate of Penn Hills High School, Dennis attended Penn State University at State College and became a lifelong Nittany Lion. Upon graduating in 1968, he immediately embarked on his professional sales and management career in the newspaper, printing, and publishing industries. Throughout his career he owned and managed various print shops and contributed much to an industry that at the time was thriving.

With an entrepreneurial spirit he was always investigating new career angles, business ventures and how to make the most of what life had to offer. Even in retirement he worked various side gigs, mostly driving jobs where he enjoyed the social aspect and meeting new people.

Notable passions included hunting, fishing, boating, day trading, flying new drone models, and watching crime shows. His neighbors adored him and often enjoyed “Cooper sightings” on Dennis’s evening walks. He taught his daughters and granddaughters how to fish and never complained when adventures went awry and fishing gear ended up in trees or worms escaped.

His avid dedication to the Pittsburgh Steelers, his endearing sense of humor and sarcastic wit, and the joy of spending as much time as possible with his daughters and granddaughters will be remembered by friends and family always.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Condolences, remembrances and fond stories of Dennis can be shared with the family.
