Dixie Lee Justis, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and respected friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Goose Creek, South Carolina. She was 84 years old.
Born on December 12, 1940, in Honolulu, HI, Dixie was the daughter of the late Norman and Johanna Justice. She spent her formative years married, traveling and living in Pennsylvania and Bermuda before moving back to the Lowcountry where she established a life filled with family and friends.
Dixie was full of zest and spark and enjoyed life, She was a prior business owner of The Mill Inn Social Club. Dixie also had a creative side from unique crafts, beautiful ceramic, to cosmetology school, and lets not forget the never ending interior designing.
She was preceded in death by her children, Theresa Ann Haught, Terry Dean Southall and Billie Lee Honeycutt; her grandchildren, Zachary Honeycutt, Christina Maria Smith, Billy Honeycutt Jr, and Michael Southall.
Dixie is survived by her brother, David Justice, of Chincoteague, VA; her daughter, Cynthia Smith, of St Stephens, SC; her son, Mickey Southall, and daughter-in-law Walcie Southall, of South Hill, VA; her grandchildren, Stacey Hughes, Russell Smith and Monica Carter; her great & great great grandchildren, Christopher, Deja, Jonah, Alyssa, Aliyah, Bayleigh, Joslynn, Billy Jr III aka B-Bug, Zachary, Emersyn, Thomas, Emersyn, Evan, Logan, Terry Trent, Savannah, Shannon, Precious, Joshua, Jordan, Jeremy, Jason, Elijah, Tommy, Russell Jr, Nathan, and Terry Trent; her extended family members, the Brown family, Candice, Ashleigh B, Ashley G, Amanda W, Polly, Brandy, Whitney, Hunter, Neko, Timmy, Tavaris, Kyle and Nick.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Connexus Community Church of God, with Pastor Jonathan Vaughn officiating. Flowers may be sent to Connexus Community Church of God, 109 Oakley Rd Moncks Corner 29461.
The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the dedicated caregivers at Lowcountry Community Hospice House, Agape Care and the hospice team for their compassionate care.
