Edna Yvonne Corales

Edna Yvonne Corales, 74, died December 7, 2025. Her incredible strength demanded praise as she fought to the very end. The family will celebrate her life in privacy. Edivonne, as her mother called her, was born on August 10, 1951 in Lexington, Kentucky to Kerney Thomas Jr. and Geneva McKinley. She was a first class tailor and opened her own business called Top Notch Alterations. She married Ed Corales on February 14, 1971. They raised 2 daughters. If you asked Edna what she loved most, she would tell you being a mother. Edna was also an animal lover. Her dogs and cats were also her children. Family was everything to her. In her spare time she worked to help the stray cats. She wanted to save them all. She also enjoyed her garden, helping others, and adding to her collections.

Her daughters paid this tribute to her, 'Strong and honest are said by many to describe our Mom. You couldn't lose with her in your corner. And you definitely didn't want her in the opposing corner. Over the years our mom was like a mother to many of our friends. She always wanted better for everyone. Her strength, honesty and love for animals shines bright within us. She left us and this world better.' 

She was preceded in death by Geneva McKinley (Mother), Kerney Thomas Jr. (Father), Ed Corales (Husband), Bo Thomas (Brother), and Ollie Hutchison (Cherished Friend). She is survived by Elaine Corales (Daughter), JoAnna Corales (Daughter), Lynda Dillow (Sister), Blythe Rodgers (Granddaughter), and Amber Thomas-Wilson (Niece).
