Gloria H. Rook

January 6, 1950 — January 17, 2024

Ravenel

Gloria Rook, 74 of Ravenel, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

She was born on January 6, 1950 in Charleston, South Carolina and was a Daughter of (the late) Margie Davis Hickman and Clyde Hickman.

She grew up on Seabrook Beach, attended Camp St. Christopher, she went to St. John's High School. She attended Sauldam Baptist Church. She was a great bowler. She worked in a lot of restaurants like Tego Bay and she was the Food & Beverage Director at Stono Ferry. Granny was the best person in the world to be around, she was always humble and kind. She took pride in everything she did, she loved with her whole heart, she would give the shirt off her back for someone, and she was a fantastic cook! She loved to garden and root plants, she really had a true green thumb and most importantly she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great great grandchildren and all other family members and adopted family members!!

As a mother, she raised her children with the love of God, Love for each other and respect for others. Her love, beliefs, and teaching is carried on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her mark on this world is permanent and will never be forgotten. She may have left us physically, but her spirit and love will live on and remain with us forever. She gave us strength and inspiration. Her strength will carry us through the rest of our lives. All we have to do is close our eyes and remember. The warmth of her love will drive out the chill of our loneliness.
We are not saying goodbye. We will be together again. Rest easy and comfortably.

Look after us and guide our way. We love you Mom; Granny.
