Gregory Roy Hill, 53 of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born on September 19, 1971 in Burlington, VT was a (Son, Daughter) of (the late) Marguerite Hill (Larrabee) and Richard Hill.
Greg loved living life to the fullest. He enjoyed the finer things like traveling, Rock music, being a huge fan of Metallica, He had a passion for art, jewelry, fast cars, boating, or just being out on or by the water, concerts, socializing, experiencing culture and new or adventurous things. His truest love was for his family.
He adored his 2 daughters, Rayawna and Maleena Hill, that he shared with his wife Katrina Hill. His girls were his true sense of pride and joy , he loved them wholeheartedly and his eyes would just light up at the mention of them , he was always sharing how proud he was of them both. He loved taking them on fun excursions and attending their achievements.
Greg truly had a love for life and for people. He had a big heart, holding a special compassion for people struggling. He gave selflessly to so many and would help anyone in need. To know Greg was to love him. The world will miss his strong presence for certain.
Greg had attended the Institute of Art in Manchester, NH alongside of his wife, Katrina Hill. Together they learned the various facets of jewelry design, repair and metal working. He loved unique jewelry and had a passion for handcrafting beautiful pieces of jewelry, that they custom designed and sold in their shop. He had an entrepreneurial nature. He knew how to create something from nothing, when it came to business and finances , and was always creatively proactive in the hustle to make things happen. He had various business endeavors that he focused on during his life. The latest being a wholesale / resale business, he originally opened with his wife but continued to operate on his own in the recent years, including a window blind discount sales and installation shop. He always loved learning new tricks of the trade for all of his interests and professions.
In the early 2000s Greg had achieved the difficult challenge of recovery from his personal Addictions, finding his strength from his true desire to have a healthy family in the future ,with his then fiancé, Katrina and remained true on that journey for almost 2 decades, motivated by the love and dreams he had for his family, especially his beautiful beloved two daughters.
While his passing was difficult, he was able to spend his final days in the arms of his daughters and loved ones . He left us knowing he was loved. He will be forever missed by many, remembering his heartfelt, vivacious personality lit up the room for so many of us.
Gregory is preceded in death by George Larrabee (Grandfather), Lucille Larrabee (Grandmother). He had a special bond with his grandparents and loved them very much.
Gregory is survived by Rayawna Hill (Daughter), Maleena Hill (Daughter), Katrina Hill (wife) , Richard Hill (Father), Marguerite Hill (Mother), Jennifer Hill (Sister), Caleb Hill (Nephew), Colby Hill (Nephew), Makenzie Hill (Niece), aunts; Uncles and cousins and many good friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13 . The memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at The Country Club of Summerville Pavillion Also known as, Miler Country Club, located in Summerville, SC.
Greg wishes were to be cremated and to have some of his ashes cast in Lake Champlain, Vermont and also scattered with his beloved grandparents and distributed in the Caribbean near the Dominican Republic , him and his family shared.
