Grover Cleveland Tompkins, Jr. entered into eternal rest on April 6, 2019. He was born on October 26, 1943 in Georgetown, SC the son of Grover Cleveland Tompkins, Sr. and Francis Harrelson Tompkins.

Tompkins was a former Charleston County patrolman and detective. He was a member of many groups, Omar Shriners, Scottish Rite, Fidelity Masonic Lodge, VFW, Moose Lodge and many social clubs and lounges.

He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Mary T. Finger (Carl).

Surviving are his son, Thomas “Tommy” William Tompkins (Daria) and daughter Kristina “Kissy” Tompkins Gillam (Joey) his 5 grandchildren, Joseph Tompkins (Rae), Gregory Gillam, Callie Gillam, Patrick Gillam, and Darby Tompkins. A sister, Deanna T. Leasure and a brother, George Tompkins (Susan).
