Hans Buehler

Mr. Hans Buehler, 86, passed away on May 29, 2024. He was born January 9, 1938, in Zendersch, Romania to John and Regina Buehler who are deceased.

He had two siblings, George Buehler of Starkville, Mississippi, who survives and Regina Buehler who is deceased. Hans was married to Ann Hawkins Buehler who predeceased him.

He is survived by in-laws Kay and Tony Lackey, Leigh and C.J. Butler; Laura, Jay and John Cotton; and dear friends, Missy and Guy Murray and Caroline Mauney and Ellen Clark.

As a child, Hans survived World War II. As a teenager, Hans was a refugee in war torn Europe. The Buehler family immigrated to the United States in 1957. Mr. Buehler attended and graduated from Wittenberg Theological Seminary in Ohio.

During his lifetime he lived in Ohio, New York, and South Carolina. He retired from Cummins.

Hans loved and missed his wife Ann after she died on November 1, 2020. The horror of his formative years enduring war as a child was forever with him, as he dedicated much of his life’s belongings and achievements to education and disease-associated charities.

The loving care by longtime friends and caregivers Wanda Nelson, her daughter Taborah Sherman, along with MUSC Hospice nurse Michele Gray, made Han’s journey to the Lord a much loved one.
