Harold Mahan

March 3, 1940 — February 7, 2024

Johns Island

Harold Mahan, 83 of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Born on March 3, 1940 in Houston, TX. Harold was a son of (the late) Mary Mahan (Retenke) and Ezra Mahan.

Although born in Texas (and a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan), Harold grew up in Ohio. Growing up on a farm instilled in him a work ethic that would last a lifetime. His passion for cars would also last a lifetime. Harold joined the Navy in 1960 and spent 8 years as a submariner. He received an associate degree in engineering from Trident Tech in 1978. Although he worked for a while at the shipyard, he could not ignore the call of his true passion - cars. He never met a car he didn't like, and he could always see the potential in what most people saw as rusted, busted hunks of junk. He was rarely seen without a smile on his face, loved a good joke, loved the Lord, and will be deeply missed by everyone who really knew him.

Harold is preceded in death by Mary Mahan (Mother), Ezra Mahan (Father), Bradlee Jackson (Grandson).

Harold is survived by Helen Mahan (Wife), Randy Mahan (Son), Shelley Mahan (Daughter-in-law), Craig Mahan (Son), Tricia Mahan (Daughter-in-law), Michael Jackson (Son), Martin Jackson (Son), Mathew Jackson (Son), Kim Jackson (Daughter-in-law), Douglas Mahan (Son), Jenifer Mahan (Daughter-in-law), Danelle Fries (Daughter), Joseph Fries (Son-in-law), David Mahan (Son), Melissa Mahan (Daughter-in-law), Randy Mahan (Grandson), Katelynn Mahan (Granddaughter), Solan Mahan (Grandson), Wesley Mahan (Grandson), Claira Ann Mahan (Granddaughter).
