Jack William Price

Jack William Price, age 90, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. Born on July 7, 1935, in Camden, South Carolina, Jack lived a rich and joyful life defined by his faith, kindness, humor, and love for family and friends.

A generous man of great integrity, Jack never met a stranger and made friends easily wherever he went. He had a zest for life that spread naturally to those around him — whether through laughter, music, wood crafting, or good food.

Jack's faith was at the center of his life. He was an active church member who served on boards, sang in choirs, ministered as a Stephen Minister, and even donned the red suit as Santa Claus to bring joy to others through giving ministries. Music was a lifelong passion that permeated everything he did—from Handel's Messiah to upbeat Caribbean rhythms, Jack loved it all. As a proud Shriner, he found joy in playing the steel drums, sharing his musical spirit at every opportunity. A serious culinarian, Jack delighted in sharing his famous chili and stews, providing heartwarming meals for countless friends. Woodworking was another craft at which he excelled, and he lovingly created special pieces for others, notably a treasured cradle and train table for his grandson. Whether through faith, music, food, or craftsmanship, Jack's greatest joy came from giving of himself to enrich the lives of those around him.

Above all, Jack’s heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who took great pride in his loved ones’ accomplishments, and cherished every moment spent together. His family will always remember his uplifting spirit, generosity, and endless stories about the people he loved.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Miller Price; his daughters, Debbie Price Aylmer (Nigel), and Tammy Price Masopust (Brad); and his grandson, Sean William Masopust (Heather). He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Jo Shriner (David): and many adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Emma Price: and his siblings, Ann Kornrumpf (Ricky), James Price (Ruth), Margaret Berry (Frank), Howard Price (Virginia), Harold Price (Erlene), Betty Lail (Hubert), and Jill Mooneyham (Howard).

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 P.M.
