Jay A. Sterner, 89, of Lexington, SC and formerly of Macungie, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2026. He was born in Allentown on May 18, 1936, to the late Paul W. and Arlene M. (Leopoal) Sterner.
Jay was a 1954 graduate of Allentown High School and was a veteran of the US Navy, having served from 1954 – 1958. Upon returning from service, he worked for Bonney Forge as a machine shop operation until he retired.
Jay, his brother and his nephews bowled for many years together at Fairview Fire Company and he bowled at Rose Bowl Lanes. Jay also enjoyed golfing on a league every Tuesday night. Jay loved his Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.
Jay is survived by his Daughter, Nanette Renard and husband George of Lexington, SC ; Daughter Michele Rohrbach and her husband Marty, of Kutztown, Pa; Grandchildren Jennifer Bunnells and her husband Jeremy; Kristin Cring and her husband Ryan; Kevin Unangst and his wife Liz; Megan Rohrbach. Great Grandchildren Grayson and Emma Bunnells; Easton and Fallon Cring; Ryleigh, Harper and Gunner Unangst, and Siblings Kay A. (Sterner) Kern, as well as nieces and nephews. Jay was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Marlene Sechler Sterner.
