Jeannine Kay Jameson

Jeannine K. Jameson, 86, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Jeannine was born in Canton, OH in 1939 to Lt.Col. James G. and Mary A. Whipple. Jeannine was able travel the world when she was young and attend many different schools thanks to her father's military career. As an adult, Jeannine worked for the Richland Two School District at Lonnie B. Nelson elementary for more than 40 years, as a professional attendant. Jeannine was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Columbia, for more than 60 years, where for with twenty of those years, she faithfully served the needs of little children in the nursery and Sunday School.

Jeannine was a loving and wonderful mother and sister, with her greatest achievement being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately called Memaw by her grand and great - grandchildren. She was also known as Memaw to friends of those grands and great-grands, all of whom still call her that today. To know her was to know love and to be loved.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, Lt. Col. James G. and Mary A.Whipple. She is survived by her sister, Darlene S. Whipple of Columbia, three daughters - Donna Taylor, Jerri McGuire, both of Columbia, and Michele (Chris) Morrison of Lexington, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Jeannine's honor at Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Columbia, on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
