Jerry Leroy Johnson, of Ladson, SC. aged 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18th at 3:32PM, with his 2 daughters by his side.

Jerry was born in Joplin, Missouri in 1936 to Bernice Elenor Johnson(Asbell) and Wyatt McDonald Johnson of Joplin, Missouri. He met his wife, Narda Veronica Johnson, from Christchurch, New Zealand while he was serving in the United States Navy. They moved to the United States where they had 3 daughters. Barbara Gloor (Michael) of McClure, OH., Carolyn Sue Johnson (deceased), and Dana Ann Corson (Brad, deceased) of Ladson, SC.

He had 4 grandchildren, Joshua Paul Jamerson of Toledo, OH., William Jerrel Jamerson of Maumee, OH., Jessica Lynn Majeski of Venice, FL. and Juliet Gloor of Wauseon, OH.

He had 3 great grandchildren, Scott Jamerson, Jenna Jamerson, Ezri Majeski and 2 great-great granddaughters, Kayleigh Anne Rhoades (deceased) and Everleigh Violet Rhoades.

Jerry was a Senior Chief in the United States Navy from 1956 - 1975. He served aboard the USS Boston (CAG 1), USS Abraham Lincoln (SSBN 602), USS Angler (AGSS 240), USS Barb (SSN 596), USS B. Franklin (SSBN 640) and he also was stationed in NAF McMurdo Sound Antartica, NAVEXAMCEN Great Lakes, Illinois, USN Submarine Base New London, Connecticut, COMSUBPAC in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii & COMSUBRON 15 in Piti, Guam. He was an avid fisherman and loved when his children & grandchildren were able to visit. He also loved wood working and cabinet building.

Jerry will be forever missed by his family and friends.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor him and the great impact he had on all of us.
