Joy Ann Salter, 92, of Columbia, SC, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. A private graveside service will be held at Lebanon Methodist Church, Eastover, SC.

Born June 28, 1933, in Christmasville, TN, Joy was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Lawler. She attended Memphis State University where she met the late Bill T. Salter, whom she later married. An accomplished artist, Joy owned the Joy S Gallery in Memphis, TN. She had a lifelong passion for gardening and was an active member of the Hunting Creek, City of Columbia, and South Carolina Garden Clubs. After Bill's passing in 2004, Joy continued to share her talents and love of flowers while working at Rosewood Florist in Columbia, SC.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Roberson (W. Allen); her son, Jeffery Charles William Salter (Jodi); and four beloved grandchildren, including Grace Elena Salter, States Taylor Roberson (Darcy), Adeline Walker Roberson, and Seth Whitfield Roberson. She will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her green thumb, and her graciousness and kindness she extended to all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to The Garden Club of South Carolina or The Carolina Wildlife Center (CWC).
