In Loving Memory of Judith Elaine Mannies (née Upton)
June 29, 1949 - July 6, 2026
Judith Elaine "Judy" Mannies, 77, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026. Judy is a graduate of Mohawk Trail Regional High School, attended college at Greenfield Community College, and the Univeristy of Alaska.
Born on June 29, 1949, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Judy was the daughter of the late Walter Upton and Eudora Upton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Fredrick Upton. Judy is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy Peavy (née Mannies) and son-in-law, John Peavy; her beloved grandchildren, Haylea Lloyd, and Michael Austin Freie and his girlfriend, Kylie May; her cherished great-grandchildren, Asden Freie and Kenai Freie; and her sisters, Anne Upton and Jean Poole. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Judy had a gentle, creative spirit and found beauty in the world around her. She had a lifelong love of horses, birds, interior decorating. fashion, art, and the peacefulness of the beach. She was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, reading, traveling, painting, and writing poetry, expressing her thoughts and faith through both words and art. Above all, Judy was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and loved her family deeply. Her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were among her greatest blessings. Like every life, Judy's journey was uniquely her own. Through it all, the love shared between her and her family endured, and that love remains her lasting legacy.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing Judy is no longer suffering and has found eternal peace in the loving arms of her Savior. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A Poem Written by Judy Mannies
Pain and Sunshine
Pain is the death of a loved one. Sunshine is the knowledge we will see them again in Heaven.
Pain is having your dreams turn to ashes. Sunshine is there are other dreams to have and to work for.
Pain is a wayward child. Sunshine is the hope they will return into your outstretched arms.
Pain is having wasted your life on trivial things. Sunshine is to go on and not waste anymore.
Pain is seeing others in pain. Sunshine is being able to care and love.
Pain is the loss of a friendship. Sunshine is hope for a new one to take its place.
Mom, your words will continue to inspire us, and your love will remain in our hearts forever. Though we will miss you every day, we find comfort knowing you are no longer in pain and are finally at peace. Until we meet again, we will carry your memory, your faith, and your love with us always.
Forever loved,
Tammy & John Peavy
Haylea Lloyd
Michael Austin Freie & Kylie May, Asden Freie & Kenai Freie
