Kelly Ann McKinney

Kelly Ann Inman McKinney died August, 17, 2023 in Charleston South Carolina.  She was 50 years old, born December 23, 1972 in New Albany, IN. 

Kelly Ann was a graduate of College of Charleston. she furthered her studies with 2 more years of a post baccalaureate Paralegal program that she successfully completed.  Kelly Ann is a graduate of Harpeth Hall School and Father Ryan School, both in Nashville, TN. Kelly Ann was a successful paralegal until her illness rendered her unable to work.  She died while waiting upon approval from Disability. 

Kelly Ann is survived by parents, Linda Williams Hunter of TN and Gary W Williams of TN.  She has one sister, Leslee Inman Hart, of TN. 

Other survivors include daughter, Meghan Massengill of NC.   A loving stepfather, Scott Hunter of TN.  An Uncle, Garry McKinney, of FL; and 11 aunts including Jeanette McKinney, Diana Inman, Brenda Inman Daniels, all of KY, Lora McKinney of MO; Valerie Rink, Stephanie Barthelme, Denise Kissinger of IA;   Rene Schmitt of KS;  Christy Robbins of NE; Candace Haley of MI; and Kelly Garza of TX, Kelly Ann's cousins include Duane & Alese, Jessica, Jacqueline, Amanda, Terri.   She has 1 stepsister, Holly Hunter.  Kelly Ann has many cherished friends who helped her throughout her illness.   They are Laura Ann Hart of TN, Judy Massengill of NC who adopted Meghan as an infant, and David Wolf of GA.   Kelly Ann was loved by many until her illness alienated her from friends, colleagues, and classmates.  She never married, but enjoyed staying in touch with David Wolfe (Meghan's biological father).  

Love of her life was her 2 dogs: Stella Mae & Pupetta.  Pupetta remained at Kelly Ann's side at her death. Stella Mae is in TN with mother and stepfather.   "Pup" is in SC with Kelly Ann's trusted friend, Stefanie.  

Kelly Ann's biological father, Lester Inman JR, her 4  grandparents Luther & Ann McKinney, Lester Inman SR & Doris Inman, Uncle Mike McKinney, and cousins Shawn McKinney and Kerry Ann McKinney are deceased.  She was named in honor of her grandmother, Ann McKinney.

Kelly Ann was an advocate for dogs, and volunteered for Tahimsa House, an organization who keeps dogs safe while their owner escapes domestic violence. If anyone is interested in the ongoing support of Kelly Ann's dogs, please contact Linda McKinney Hunter at rescuedbylinda@gmail.com

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Grace Presbyterian Church, Bartlett TN.  Memorial donations are appreciated to Grace Presbyterian Church, 6671 Yale Road, Bartlett TN 38134 who has graciously provided comfort during Kelly Ann's illness and death.
