Leon Donnie Burls

Leon Donnie Burls " Puddin", 66 of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Born on February 4, 1957 in Harlem, NY was the son of the late Henrietta Burls (Blanks) and Leon Burls.

Puddin grew up in Piscataway NJ, later relocating to Rahway, NJ, where he met Bonnie Washington. Prior to moving to South Carolina, Puddin resided in Las Vegas, NV for several years while caring for his mother. In 2004 he relocated to Summerville, SC where lived until he departed this life. Puddin loved to talk and tell stories about the years they owned the soul food restaurant "Somethin' Fishy" in Rahway, NJ , all of the many places they traveled, his life in Las Vegas, NV and events that occurred throughout his life. While living in South Carolina, he was self-employed as a scrapper. He also was an avid NY Giants Fan and loved to cook and spend time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Eddie and Barry Burls.

Leon is survived by Bonnie Washington (wifey), daughters; JuTeara and Aysia Washington, grandchildren; Sadirah Lambert, Britlynn Washington, and Xavier Longoria, ,sister; Audrey Russell (Warren), brother; Roger Burls, sister-in-law; Dawn Washington, brother-in-law; Kerry Washington, best friend; Theodore "Teddy" Pendelton, some very special cousins, and a host of neices, nephews, and other family members. And a special thanks to Raevon Brown and Robin Blanks.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Palmetto Cremation Society, 5638 N Rhett Ave, Charleston, SC 29406. A Memorial will be held at a later date.
