Linda Godwin Seay, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, passed away August 29, 2026. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the middle daughter of WJ and Sue Nell Godwin.

Linda graduated from James Island High School in 1965 and attended Montreat-Anderson College. In the summer of 1968, she met the love of her life, Richard Terrell (Terry) Seay. The two fell love and were married within six months, the beginning of a marriage that would last 57 years.

Linda was an active and faithful member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston. She had a deep love of travel and loved time spent with family and friends, and delighted most of all in being grandmother to her granddaughter, Hailey. Her family also knew her to be the best athlete in the family - competitive, spirited, and always up for the challenge. Above all, Linda was simply the best person you could ever hope to meet. She was kind, warm, and generous.

Linda is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard Terrell (Terry) Seay; her children, Alicia Seay, and Kyle Seay; her granddaughter, Hailey Seay; her sisters, Susan Allbritton and Debbie Nelson and many nieces, nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway, reception to follow.
