Longs

Lisa Diane Hilliard (44) of Longs, SC, passed away on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, after a courageous yearlong battle with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. She peacefully transitioned surrounded by loved ones at MUSC in Charleston, SC, where she had received exceptional care during her illness. After undergoing 9 rounds of in-hospital chemotherapy, 2 radiation treatments, emergency brain tumor surgery, and cutting-edge CAR-T therapy, Lisa achieved full remission in December of 2023. Unfortunately, the intensive treatments weakened her body, leaving her unable to combat a subsequent invasive infection.

Born on January 14th, 1980, in Jacksonville, FL, Lisa was the daughter of James Mark Hilliard and Linda Diane Hilliard-Stagles. She spent her childhood in Walworth, NY, graduating from Gananda High School in 1998. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Coastal Carolina University in 2009. She dedicated many years to the food and beverage industry in the Myrtle Beach, SC area, touching the lives of coworkers and customers alike.

Lisa was a passionate reader, avid gardener, world traveler, lover of water, Shark Week enthusiast, and artistic soul. Her hand-crafted holiday and Christmas decorations adorned local establishments and homes in the Myrtle Beach area, bringing joy to many.

Lisa faced cancer and life with the same fierce determination. Her unwavering spirit and refusal to give up were evident to all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted life partner David Amend, parents James Mark Hilliard and Linda Hilliard-Stagles, sister Jaime (Ryan) Goldman, numerous adoring nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs Lucy and Lannister.

A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 2-4pm at Thoroughbreds Chophouse (9706 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572). In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation at https://lymphoma.org/ (Get Involved - Donate). Please send cards to: David Amend, 236 Silverbelle Blvd., Longs, SC 29568. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at https://www.palmettocs.com/.

Lisa, your brave battle against cancer and your indomitable spirit will forever inspire us. May you find peace in knowing that you triumphed over cancer and are now free from pain. You will remain in our hearts, and your memory will live on. Rest peacefully, dear Lisa.
