Louise Avant Atkinson

   Louise Avant Atkinson, 89, of North Charleston, SC passed quietly at home on January 12, 2026. Louise was born March 18, 1936, in Charleston, SC to the late Maurice and Mattie Avant.

   Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” J. Atkinson; two of her children, Charles Marty Atkinson and Audrey Atkinson Roberson; as well as her sister, Doris Avant Harshbarger.

   Louise is survived by her son Timothy “Tim” Davis Atkinson; grandsons, Charles Aaron Beaudrot of Goose Creek, SC and Jesse Lee Kaminski of Connecticut; granddaughters, Jennifer Moxley of Fleming Island, FL and Heather Nichole Fitzpatrick of North Charleston, SC. As well as multiple great grandchildren in Connecticut and Florida, to include Madison Beaudrot of Goose Creek, SC. Louise is also survived by her sister, Nina Taylor of Moncks Corner, SC and her brother, David Avant of Savannah, GA.

   Louise and her late husband Charlie opened and operated Atkinson Construction, known around the low country for many years, with their son Tim. An exceptional businesswoman Louise will always be known and loved for her tenacity.
