Margery Ada Hasbrouck

With peace in her heart, Margery made the difficult decision to stop all medical treatment following her final hospital stay, choosing instead to spend her remaining time at home, surrounded by the people she loved most. She faced this final chapter with the same determination and courage that defined her life, passing away on June 28,2025 at the age of 81.

From the cornfields of Iowa, to the land of peaches in Georgia, to the mountains of North Carolina, and finally to the South Carolina Lowcountry, Marge never met a stranger and touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She led a life marked by quiet resilience and devotion.

Marge was diagnosed with MDS, a rare bone marrow disorder, and was given at best, 18 months to live. But for four years, she faced every challenge head-on, enduring countless treatments and setbacks. Even as the disease progressed to, she pressed on through her final rounds of chemotherapy with the same fierce spirit she was known for.

Marge was a force. Known for her independence, work ethic, leadership, creativity, sense of humor, curious mind, and an endless supply of stories. She was someone you didn’t forget. She loved deeply, was deeply loved in return, and valued making memories more than anything.

And of course — in true “Marge in Charge” fashion — she insisted on giving her final approval for this obituary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Elmer and Matilda Perkins; her sister, Lois Wiegard.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Quill (Patrick); her son, Troy Hasbrouck (Lisa); her grandchildren, Kelcie Wright (Nathan), Alex Hasbrouck, Katherine Quill, Zachary Hasbrouck; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Nyah Wright; her big sister Cecelia Crawford, nine nieces and nephews and their families and beloved friends and coworkers who will carry her memory forward with love.

In lieu of flowers, we are requesting donations be sent to Lighthouse Church at 1177 Gregorie Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29445. Marge’s church community played a pivotal role in supporting Marge and her family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6th at 3 pm at the Lighthouse Church at 1177 Gregorie Ferry, Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29445. The doors will open at 2:30 pm.
