Mary "Jean" A. Pauldine

Mary (Jean) Ann Pauldine, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 15th.

Mary was born on November 1, 1926 to Cosimo and Beatrice Ann (Pinelli) Cardone. Mary was a faith-filled, fun loving and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was the only surviving sibling of six.

She survived her husband, Donold Pauldine, by 22 years.  She leaves her daughters, Gina Kumor and son-in-law Bob, Mary Alice Skribner and son-in-law Tommy, Alexis Castellana, and son John Pauldine and daughter-in-law Diane. She has four grandchildren, Olivia DeCanio, Amanda Kumor, Maddie and Luke Pauldine.

Mary was born in Elmira New York and was a cosmetologist working along-side her husband Donold and they built an enterprise together.  This wove the fabric of their life and allowed her to be ever-present to her family. Dad gave Mary the name of Jean while she was working in the Salon because there were so many Mary’s.  Taking care of her clients, whether their hair, skin, or nails was a true joy.  She was a counselor, a friend, and they were the same to her.  Many, many became such close friends. She loved entertaining with her joy of Italian cooking, and was the life of the party.  Her humor kept many of her friends in stitches. She could find humor at any moment, on any subject, on every day. She moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC in 2004 to be near her daughter Alexis, and son John.  Mom was the best mother ever, even to all of her children’s friends as she was nurturing, very wise and loved everybody.  Tirelessly, she fulfilled her motherly role with warmth and joy. She loved life, was a devoted Catholic and left her legacy of faith, charity, and selflessness to her family.  Her memory will be forever in our hearts.
