Mary Byers McElveen Gadsden,91,of Chas., SC, widow of Paul H. Gadsden,Jr peacefully passed away with family at her side on June 4, 2022.
Mary was born on June 30,1930 in Kingstree, SC. She was the daughter of the late John Daniel McElveen and the late Libbie Byers McElveen.
The Nurses Honor Guard of SC will pay tribute to her accomplishments as a graduate of the Medical College of SC's School of Nursing, and her career as a Registered Nurse at the Chas. V.A. Hospital.
Mary enjoyed gardening, quilting, and taking care of others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by five children, fifteen grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 3 pm at Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, SC. Arrangements by Palmetto Cremation Society.
