Mary Ann Brown Williford, of Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, died Monday, April 29, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Vaughan Williford; her brother, Bill Brown (Linda); her daughter, Mary Ellen Huddleston (Jody); her daughter-in-law, Leslie Saunders Williford; granddaughters, Grace Magyar (Brian), Mary Vaughan Brown (Morgan), and Mary Kathryn Huddleston and four great-grandchildren, Evans and Graham Magyar, and Mary Palmer and Mason Brown.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, James Archie Williford, and brother, Thomas Lafayette Brown.

Mary Ann was born on August 28, 1935, in Gaffney, South Carolina. She graduated from Queens College in 1957 and was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. After starting their family in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary Ann and Joe moved to Richmond, Virginia, where they were active members of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. Mary Ann loved playing tennis with her girlfriends and beating family and friends in card games. In 2017, she proved this by earning a Bronze Life Master's in the American Contract Bridge League.

Mary Ann was devoted to her husband, loved her children, cherished her grandchildren, and adored her great-grands.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at James Island Presbyterian Church, Charleston, SC.
