Melinda Julia Hawk

Melinda Julia Hawk, 64 of Charleston, South Carolina, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 11, 2023. 

Born on April 17, 1959 in Easton, PA she was a daughter of Ruth Merrill Hawk (Wilson) and the late Carl Hawk, Jr.

Melinda graduated from Garrett High School in 1980. For many years, Melinda worked as a Parent Mentor for Family Resource Center. She was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kind-hearted person. According to Melinda, even if it was raining she would always say and believe "it's a beautiful day." Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - " And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Melinda was preceded in death by her brother Gary Bryan Hawk.

Melinda is survived by Martha Munn (long-time friend), Ruth Hawk (Mother), Cheryl Furman (Sister), and Alan Hawk (Brother). 

In addition to her immediate family, Melinda is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Melinda's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
