Michael Stewart Nobles, 70, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at his beloved family farm, surrounded by those who loved him most. His family held his hands and encouraged him as he went home to be with the Lord after courageously battling illnesses related to cancer since 2014.
Born on October 15, 1955, Michael was the son of the late Harold Stewart Nobles and Lillian Doreen Medlock, and the stepson of the late Robert Medlock. He was also preceded in death by his stepbrother, Billy Medlock. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane Nobles; his son, Josh Nobles; his daughters, Marie Curry and Amelia Lawter; his sisters, Kathryn “Kathy” Nobles and Becky Capasso; his stepbrother, Rob Medlock; and many extended family members and friends who cherished him deeply.
Michael was raised in Florida, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and especially for the Suwannee River, where he spent countless happy days with family. He had a passion for music and was a talented singer, performing in a band during his younger years and continuing to fill his home with song throughout his life.
A devoted horticulturist, Michael spent his entire adult life studying, growing, and nurturing plants. His knowledge and passion for horticulture were unmatched. In 2007, he and his wife and son opened Third Day Farms on their family property, where his son Josh will proudly continue the family business. Among his many accomplishments, Michael patented his own fig plant, Little Miss Figgy, a reflection of his creativity, expertise, and love of the natural world.
Michael was also deeply devoted to his family. He spent years coaching, supporting, and traveling with his son’s Little League baseball teams, taking great pride in watching the kids grow and succeed both on and off the field. Those experiences created some of his happiest memories and lifelong friendships.
Michael was a man of deep faith. Though he was open about being a flawed but devoted Christian, he lived his faith daily. For years, he shared his personal devotionals through text messages that reached hundreds of people and touched countless hearts.
He was an animal lover who found joy in caring for the many dogs, chickens, turkeys, and horses on his farm. Above all, Michael cherished his role as a husband, father, and friend. He often said the key to a lasting marriage was to “marry your best friend,” and he and Diane celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on November 2—just two days before his passing.
Michael will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, faith, and unconditional love for his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the farm he built, and the love he sowed in those around him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
