Paul Francis Carney

Paul Francis Carney peacefully passed with his family by his side on April 30, 2026 in Mount Pleasant, SC. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to parents Eleanor (McDonald) Carney and Francis D. Carney on March 9, 1950. He was a loving father, a doting Pops to his two grandsons, a ray of positivity and light for his family and friends, and a deeply kind and generous man.

Golf was Paul’s unending passion and he was a talented athlete. He loved being on the course, and later in life spent over two decades caddying with a style and fervor that made him a beloved coach and friend to his extended families at the Shelter Harbor and Naples National courses. He never had a bad day no matter what he was facing, which is just one of the many reasons he was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

Paul is survived by his brother Dan Carney, sister Carolyn Zappella, his two daughters and their families - Kristen, Blair, Rowan, and Reid Whitener, Jessica Williams, and John Williams. The family is planning a small celebration of life in the summer in RI.
