Phillip Mark McRae of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. died on May 3, 2025 at the age of 78.
He was predeceased by his parents Wendell and June McRae, and his son, Nathan McRae.
He is survived by his wife, Robin McRae, son, Jonathan McRae and grand daughter, Alexia McRae.
Mr. McRae was a Vietnam War Veteran, having served in the U. S. Air Force. His true calling was as an educator, working in Berkeley County as a teacher and administrator at Westview Elementary School.
In retirement, he continued to serve his community through Meals on Wheels, Kairos Prison Ministry and as a volunteer at the Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center.
He was a lifelong, avid golfer, spending many hours on the course at Snee Farm. Blessed with a beautiful voice, he sang in numerous church choirs and the Charleston Men’s Chorus. He was an active member of several churches throughout his dedicated Christian life. While at the Veterans Victory House, he served as a volunteer with Patriot Hospice.
He was a loving family man and will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Beaufort National Cemetery on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11 a. m.
