Richard Stanley Ruszecki

Richard Stanley Ruszecki, Sr, 64 of West Columbia passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his home. 

Richard was born on December 7, 1960 in Pittsburgh, PA to Albert Paul Ruszecki and Jean Paula Ruszecki. Richard married to his late wife Sharon Lynn (Lapp) Ruszecki of In Pittsburgh, PA in 1983, and spent 33 wonderful years together. 

He was preceded in death by Jean Paula (Toth) Ruszecki (Mother), Albert Paul Ruszecki (Father); Sharon Lynn (Lapp) Ruszecki(wife); Albert Paul Ruszecki Jr (brother). Richard served in the Marines and Army; that he enjoyed and was very proud of his accomplishments, and loved showing off his awards and metals. 

Richard was a lovely and devoted husband and father that loved to go fishing, cooking, hangout outdoors and loved to be with family. He loved telling his kids about his past, and all the crazy things he adventured in life, from racing cars to growing up on the farm. 

Richard is survived by 2 daughters, Ashley Lynn Ruszecki (Partner Jeremy Oliver) of Lexington, and Amanda Marie Ruszecki; a son, Richard Stanley Ruszecki, Jr. both of West Columbia; one brother, Stanley Ruszecki of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren, Madison Marie Rogers, Landon Eric Rogers, Nathan Kyle Oliver, Natalie Fay Oliver and Mason Lee Ruszecki, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, South Carolina, 29229, with Pastor Bandon officiating. The Burial will follow at Fort Jackson.
