Rickie Jay Pippin, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, was born in Houston, Texas, on December 28, 1953, and passed away Lexington, South Carolina on June 14, 2026, at the age of 72. He will be remembered for the lasting memories made with his family and friends throughout his life, as well as for the lasting impact he had on those who knew him.
Rickie was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Delois Pippin and a sister Bonnie Brown.
He is survived by his sons, James Caldwell, Randy Pippin, Rickie Pippin, and his daughter, Amber Pippin, as well as his grandchildren. He also leaves behind many siblings, Patricia Ellsworth, Judy Bellamy, Harriet Irwin, Freddie Pippin, Wyatt Pippin, Susie Roberts, Deena Graves, and Marty (Bimbo) Pippin, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him and will carry his memory forward. Rickie is further survived by extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
Rickie enjoyed playing golf with his best buddies Ari and Benny, his 6- and 7-year-old niece and nephew, listening to classic rock and roll music, he especially loved Elvis Presley. He also had a very special relationship with his cat “Little Lady”.
The song “I Can Only Imagine” held special meaning for Rickie and his niece. Now, he no longer has to imagine what it is like to stand before Jesus.”
A service to celebrate Rickie’s life will be announced at a later time on Facebook.
Rickie Jay Pippin will forever be remembered and deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
