Mount Pleasant

Robert Spencer Colbrunn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 21, 2024, in Mount Pleasant, SC, at 81. He was born on June 17, 1942, in French Camp, CA, to Zoria and Irving Colbrunn. He grew up in Fontana, CA and remained there before moving to Mount Pleasant, SC to enjoy his retirement in 2004.

Bob found love and companionship in his high school sweetheart, Dolores Silva. The two were married on June 26, 1942, in Las Vegas, NV, and their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment. Dolores was not only his wife but his partner in every sense of the word, standing by his side through the joys and challenges of life.

After graduating from Fontana High School and being an active member of the FFA club, Bob embarked on his career as a Maintenance Mechanic at Kaiser Steel, Rohr, and Stater Bros. He developed lifelong friendships at work and enjoyed drinks and laughs with his friends.

For Bob, true joy came from being a part of his 2 son's successes in sports early in life. He found immense pride and happiness in their accomplishments across baseball, football and basketball. His youngest son Greg fulfilled his dreams buy pursuing a career in professional baseball which developed a bond that filled him with endless pride. Bob's love for coaching youth sports extended beyond his own sons, as he selflessly gave his time and expertise to mentor countless young athletes.

In his free time, Bob could be found engaging in his favorite hobbies and interests. Whether he was bowling with Dolores, playing softball, tending to his garden, hitting the golf course, or casting a line while fishing, Bob enjoyed being active in his younger years.

He is survived by his loving wife Dolores, their children Randy, and Greg, grandson Nick, and granddaughters Danielle, Kelsey, and Vanessa. Bob's presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

In honoring the life of Robert Spencer Colbrunn, we remember his loyalty, wit and sarcastic personality. May he rest in peace.
