Robert Joseph Hoens, Sr.

Robert Joseph Hoens, Sr., 84, passed peacefully on November 24, 2023. Robert was born on September 6, 1939 in Richmond, VA to Christopher and Madeline (Grace) Hoens. He was preceded in death by wife Olivia (McBroom) Hoens. He is survived by his sons , Robert Hoens, Jr. and Joseph Hoens; and his daughter Teresa (Hoens) Francis; and 7 beloved Grandchildren. 

Bob loved the Lord, his family, and his country. He was generous with both his time and money. He was quick to laugh and often had a mischievous twinkle in eyes. He believed in hard work and lived his life with both vigor and a lot of self confidence. He was quick to share his faith with strangers in a way that made people smile, not run. He was a fierce defender of his family and his country. He proudly served in the USMC as an NCO. He had a long and successful career with Colonial Pipeline Company. His greatest gift to his kids was sharing his faith and always making sure we all knew we were loved greatly. He loved being outdoors, especially by the water. He enjoyed farming, fishing, skiing, and cooking up a big feast for the family. He also loved dogs about as much as he loved us. We will miss him greatly. 

Private Family Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, on December 7, 2023. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Charleston Animal Society or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
